Islington 2024 was out biggest event to date bringing together 20 primary schools from Islington and Hackney.
It was a fantastic community effort with over 50 volunteers - parents, school staff, sponsors helping us deliver a fun, safe and memorable event for all.
Thank you to the coaches from Ropes who introduced the kids to skipping, the Better Fitness Pancras Square team for the pre-run fun activities, and to Play New Meta Academy and Chapel Market fruit stands for donations of healthy snacks for all our runners.
An amazing turnout, despite the gloomy skies, from children, parents, siblings, teachers and members of the local community who took on the running challenge around Highbury Fields.
Congratulations to all for completing the course!
TV and radio presenter, Miquita Oliver fronted the event and led the collective warm-up for over 2,000 people- the biggest rhythm skipping demo we have ever seen.
Thanks to the support of our sponsors, Islington Square, Jefferies, Derwent London and Angel Central, all 20 schools received much needed funding for a range of infrastructure or enrichment projects that will improve the education provision of the children.
This event encouraged school communities to mobilise to raise additional funds by sponsoring the young runners for their efforts. A staggering £43,000 was raised by the children running! An incredible achievement that will make a lasting impact on the education of hundreds of children.
Long-standing corporate sponsors are the backbone of our Run Kids Run community events. This event would not have been possible without the support and sponsorship of our generous sponsors and partners.
Thank you for being a vital part of our mission to make a lasting difference.
