LONDON MARATHON COMMUNITY TRACK NOVEMBER 2023

2 Boroughs, 7 Schools

£43k Raised for Schools

2 Boroughs, 7 Schools

We were delighted to return to Stratford and gather 7 primary schools from Newham and Hackney.

The Olympic track was buzzing with a festival atmosphere: music, games, skipping sessions, hot chocolate and cakes and all the crowds cheering for the runners completing their running challenge.

The children's activities were provided by Miquita Oliver and her Ropes team, Daria and her dancers at Dance With Us and Kevin and the Badu coaches.

Thank you to all the staff, teachers and parent volunteers who went over and beyond to make the event extra special.

1,200 Runners

£43k Raised for Schools

2 Boroughs, 7 Schools

A tsunami of youthful energy took over the Olympic track for our second event in Stratford. With a record attendance of 1,200 children and their families, this event had one of the highest participation rates at 40%.

Our Sports Ambassador Grace Prendergast shared some inspirational words for the young runners before they set off and congratulated them at the finish with a chance to pose with her Olympic gold medal.

Well done to all the runners for your determination and perseverance taking on this running challenge!

£43k Raised for Schools

Each new participating school received £5,000 to go towards an improvement project that benefits all pupils. The schools also mobilised their communities and raised an additional £12k to go towards climbing frames for PE lessons, STEM equipment, playground refurbishments and the creation of outdoor classrooms.

Thanks to the support of Savills IM we were able to grow the event from three to seven schools.

Thank you to our sponsors and partners

This event would not have been possible without the sponsorship and support of our generous partners.
